DUBLIN - IRELAND

The Guiness Storehouse is one of the best attractions in Dublin.  Here you can learn about the history of Guiness through an interactive tour of 7 floors. You can also sample the various Guiness offerings which is included in the tour.

The Book of Kells is located in Trinity College Dubin.  The Book of Kells were created around 800 A.D. and illustrates the four Gospels of the New Testament.  To get to the exhibition you walk through the Long Room; a beautiful library.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is the National Cathedral for the Church of Ireland. This Church was founded in 1191.  The stain glass in the interior is amazing. There are over 500 people buried on-site including Jonathan Swift. 

Chris Church Cathedral was founded in 1030 A.D.  The architecture is medieval and Victorian.  The Cathedral crypt is the largest in Ireland and England. It contains many ancient relics. 

Dublin Castle was built in 1204.  The tour offered at the castle is a great experience. You will learn about the history of the castle as well as see the inauguration room which is still used today. 

St. Stephen's Green is a lovely park located in the center of Dublin.  It is a very nice place to walk and relax.  The park has 22 acres of well cared for greenery. There are several notable monuments located within the park.  

Boxty House has superb Irish food.  We ate corned beef, colcannon, and the beef stew from the dinner menu.  This is conveniently located in the temple bar area which is a great place to spend time.

The Sussex has great fish and dry aged steaks.  We ate the fillet and the fish of the day with a few sides from the dinner menu.  This restaurant is located within walking distance of St. Stephens Green. 

Jaffa on the Quay has great traditional Irish Breakfast.  We ate the Big Breakfast which includes sausages, bacon, eggs, white pudding, toast, beans and coffee/tea. This restaurant is located close to the Book of Kells Exhibition.

Sophie's Restaurant is a great place for breakfast. We ate the buttermilk pancakes and the organic porridge. The views from the restaurant are incredible. The location is close to St Patrick's Cathedral and St Stephens Green.

Quay's serves Irish food. We ate the Beef and Guiness Stew and the Fish and Chips from the lunch menu.  The restaurant is located in the Temple Bar area which is close to Dublin Castle.

Pho Viet has great Vietnamese food. We ate the Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle Soup) and Vietnamese Curry from the dinner menu.  This restaurant is located within walking distance of the Dublin Spire.
